This beautiful Boulder Opal picture stone is a new addition to my collection. Originally one piece, I cut it in two to create these unique earrings in a style that I’ve been making for years.
To me the images show the embers of an Australian bushfire on a burning 40 degree day. We’ve had a few of those lately. I added orange sapphires to accentuate the intensity and set them in 9k gold. The back plate is sterling silver.

Please be aware that these Opals may have natural pits and markings. They are as nature intended I have only cut, shaped and polished, I have not even tried to remove any imperfections.

Frequently asked question: Can my solid Opal go in water?
Yes, Australian Opals CAN go into water. They are not porous. Australian Opal are the most durable of all the Opals. Please don't confuse other Opal with Australian Opal. The only time you need to be careful of submerging Australian Opal in water is when they are doublets and triplets because of the glue used to hold the slice of Opal onto the backing. Anyone who sells doublets or triplets should give you full disclosure. All my Opals are solid and will not change or alter in water. Guaranteed!!
